Are Bounce Houses Safer Than Trampolines?

Are Bounce Houses Safer Than Trampolines?

The answer: Yes.

This is one of those questions that tries to compare “apples to oranges.” In general, bounce houses are seen as safer than trampolines.

Here’s why:

  • Most bounce houses have a “complete” enclosure. This differs from trampolines which generally only have safety netting around the unit and not above it.
  • The surface of the bounce house is made up of softer material than trampolines.
  • Parental (or adult) supervision is generally closer in proximity to a bounce house than to a trampoline. Since bounce houses are rented for parties, there are more adults around to supervise the inflatable and its occupants.
  • “Super-bouncing” is generally (but not always) harder to do on a bounce house. If you don’t know what “super-bouncing” is here is a YouTube video demonstrating it (FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY): TUTORIAL: How to Double Bounce on a Trampoline & Jump Super High. Don’t perform or encourage double bouncing! It is not safe.
